Best Dog Friendly Weekend Getaways California
If you’re a pet parent like me, and I swear: Your “Dog Friendly” bucket list should also include at least one trip to dog-friendly Northern California. We traveled with Babu (Tibetan Spaniel mix) all over Northern California for over 10 years. (We live in San Francisco.) We have taken several trips from San Francisco with the dogs. Two of them are still our favorites today. These trips to Northern California with dogs are clear winners. Because there are many attractions and restaurants along the way that will welcome your best friend.
Where To Find The Best Classic Beach Towns In California
Explore California’s coastal redwoods in the north and the famous 17 miles of trails in the south. (between Carmel and Monterey) are two of the best West Coast trips you can take with your dog, especially in the winter. Here’s information on attractions, stops, and things to do on these two Northern California dog-friendly tours along the Pacific Coast.

(depending on where you start) to the north and Carmel y – Meri to the south is the anchor point. Both cities are very dog friendly. 2) Summer in Northern California brings heavy fog along the coast. and reject the notion “It’s always sunny in California.” Coastal areas are cold and windy. So dress appropriately and maybe even buy a coat for your furry friend!

Best road trips with dogs in Northern California: Highway 1 from Mendocino to San Francisco
Starting in the north, Coastal Highway 1, which stretches from Mendocino County to Sonoma County, offers more than just beautiful views of the California coast. Your first stop on the way south from Mendocino is the 152-year-old Point Arena Lighthouse, located on a precarious piece of land that juts out into the ocean and shields the southern coast from fog.
