We have not stayed at any of the Margaret River cottages yet. They were booked for the dates we were traveling or we left the dog with friends and ended up staying in a dog friendly place! Best Pet Friendly Accommodation Margaret River (locals Guide 2024)
Margaret River Hideaway is my choice of pet friendly accommodation in Margaret River when I call to find out what facilities are available for dogs (and little people)! The owner was completely satisfied. Looking forward to booking here for our upcoming Margaret River winter getaway!
Why is it our choice? It looks like the perfect combination of a family-friendly holiday and dog-friendly Margaret River living. Margaret River Hideaway is home to a variety of farm animals, including Dorper sheep, alpacas, highland cattle, geese, ducks, guinea fowl, emus, peacocks and chickens. I can imagine my kids loving the animal feed held every Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday. There is also a playground for children!
Margaret River Hideaway Cottages are modern, spacious and self-catering, with beautiful views over fields and bushland! Another thing that is important to us when escaping Margaret River is being able to enjoy our privacy. Reviews say that the cabins are well located so that you can enjoy the silence.
Caves Road Chalets looks like another great option for pet-friendly Margaret River accommodation. Like the Hideaway, each cabin is completely self-contained, with air conditioning, a wood-burning fireplace, bedding – basically everything you need for an enjoyable vacation!
Best Dog Friendly Holidays Uk 2024
The cottages are another great location for a Margaret River escape as they are set amongst 64 acres of beautiful bushland. But keep in mind that they have 3 cabins that are often booked.
Do you offer dog friendly accommodation? “Yes! Dogs are more than welcome. Please let us know before booking as we are rarely able to accommodate certain dog breeds. We have a 2 dog limit per cabin and the cost per dog will be $11 per night.”
Another, slightly more expensive dog-friendly accommodation is the Margaret River Redgate Forest Retreat. Just 10 minutes from the center of Margaret River is a large peaceful sanctuary (167 hectares, with 50 hectares of natural forest).
It is close to Redgate Beach, from which it takes its name, and not far from Leeuwin Estate, Voyager Estate and Xanadu Wineries.
Holidaying With Dogs
There are four accommodation options. Each one is very unique. They range from comfortable cabins to renovated cottages with two specially designed wheelchair accessible cabins. Their website states that “as dog owners, we’ve visited many places in the area that claim to be dog-friendly but really aren’t.”
Each vacation home has reverse cycle air conditioning (for those cold Margaret River winters), well-equipped kitchens and electric grills!
If you know the area well, Four Seasons Holiday Park is just off the Way Bypass, about 15 minutes from Busselton and 11 minutes from Dunsborough. Field Marybrooke for those in the know!
Four Seasons is one of the longest running caravan parks and accommodation providers in the Busselton and Dunsborough area (over 40 years) which gives you a sense of the park’s age.

They are located on 22 acres of land next to the magnificent Geography Bay. Even better, this part of Geography Bay is dog friendly!
Not only do they allow dogs all year round, but they have cabins that can accommodate at least 5 dogs. In fact, the Four Seasons Busselton looks like the perfect vacation for both you and your pet! If you stay in these “dog friendly” cabins, you must bring all of your bedding with you.
In addition to a nearby dog beach, the Four Seasons has a coin-operated on-site DIY doggie spa—talk about giving your pooch a vacation!

The Best Dog Friendly Holiday Light Shows Across The U.s.
The truth is, you really have to call most of the parks yourself and find out what their policies are. For example, even if you are camping, they may not allow dogs during school holidays or during peak periods around Easter or Christmas.

One of the most popular caravan parks in Busselton, Big 4 Breeze Holiday Park is also one of the best dog friendly accommodation options in Busselton. If you are camping or living in a caravan there are many options; But if you’re looking for cabin-style accommodation, pet-friendly units are available at Breeze Busselton Caravan Park.
You can choose between a 2 bedroom cottage or a 6 bed spa villa, linen included, but they ask that no pets are allowed in the bedrooms. They also charge a $70 decontamination fee for cleaning costs associated with your cabin.

There is a minimum stay on public holidays or long weekends, but otherwise you can stay just one night at this dog-friendly hotel in Busselton all year round!

Ningaloo Reef Holidays
One of the most famous (and Insta-famous) trails in Margaret River is Quinnipiac Falls. Please note this is in a national park and not dog friendly! Pets are not allowed at Quinninup Falls!
As a general rule, dogs are not allowed in any of the national parks around Margaret River. This is not only for the local wildlife, but also to protect your dog, as the 1080 baits used in national parks are lethal to domestic dogs.
If you’re bringing your pet to Margaret River, you’ll want to know where the dog-friendly beaches in Margaret River are! I did this research for my upcoming vacation – with the dog – and thought I’d share what I found! Of course, there’s nothing better than verifying this information personally, so chances are I’ll be updating it soon!
If you’re staying near the town of Margaret River, you may want to head to the northern half of Gnarrbup Dog Beach, which can be accessed from Riflebutts Reserve. Greystown also has a dog-friendly beach around the bay from the main Greystown beach. This is a dog ramp.
