Dog Friendly Resorts Jackson Wy – When I was looking for a place to stay during a short two-day vacation in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, I was looking for something unique and dog-friendly near the base of the ski resort. I came across Fireside Resort, a puppy-friendly property with self-catering cottage vacation rentals. I’ve been obsessed with the tiny house movement since I first heard about it a few years ago, so it seemed like the perfect opportunity to try tiny house living.

Fireside Resort is a simple property with 23 self-contained cottages that provide maximum privacy and everything you need for a comfortable stay. We checked in at the office and were assigned to cabin 7. The cabin had high ceilings and lots of natural light. Think about combining modern with rustic. We had plenty of room for two people and a dog, and nothing in this tiny house felt cramped.

Each tiny house has its own parking space next to its cabin, which made loading and unloading our cars difficult. It was easier than driving to the hotel lobby, unloading all my stuff, and taking the elevator and down the hall to my room.

Our little cottage has its own fully equipped kitchen with everything you need to prepare a home cooked meal. Pots, pans, dishes, fridge, dishwasher, sink, toaster and coffee maker – the kitchen is a big draw in our little Fireside Resort cottage. We really appreciate being able to cook our own meals when we come home from skiing and don’t want to change money to go out or have dinner.

Convenience doesn’t end with the kitchen. Our living room has a plush leather sofa, a warm gas fireplace and a large TV. The bathroom has about 8 different shower heads for a relaxing experience and the king size bed provides plenty of room to spread out.

Outside our little cottage, we have a nice big deck with a small gas grill and picnic table, and each cottage has its own fire pit and free firewood pack. I think it would be nice to rent a few small cabins with friends and use them as a base to explore the Tetons in the summer.

If you are more than 2 people, the sofa is a folding bed or you can choose another small cabin model called Wheelhouse, which accommodates 6 people and is slightly bigger than the cabin we have.

Fireside Resort is a great place to stay year-round for those coming to explore Jackson Hole Mountain. It is only 6 miles from the Moose Wilson Road trolley stop and 26 miles from downtown Jackson.

If you want to eat out, there are several options within a 5 minute drive. One evening we ate at Calico, the Italian place next door. I wouldn’t consider the food great, but it was good and very comforting. Grocery shopping can be done at Aspen Market, less than a mile away.

For dog owners, there is a great paved walking trail across the street. I recommend driving a few minutes south on Moose Wilson Road, parking in the large parking lot off Beckley Park Way, and hiking from there. We met a lot of other dogs, which gave Charlie, our puppy, a chance to play and get some energy.

Snake River Lodge & Spa

Another popular place to walk your dog is the dirt path on the banks of the Snake River just behind Fireside Resort. In summer, you can access the route directly from the resort, but in winter, you must start the hike from the same parking lot mentioned above. Be sure to go to the middle of the bridge and take a picture. The sunset here is also very nice.

Outdoor Hot Tub – Hot tubs are simple and clean for those looking to soak in their muscles after a day out.

Free Shuttle – Fireside Resort offers free shuttle service to and from the Jackson Hole Chairlift. Parking in Jackson Hole costs $10 a day, so this door-to-door shuttle service is a great bonus. Remember to call the reception and reserve your place before 7pm the night before.

LEED certification – it’s not a convenience, but it’s worth mentioning for people interested in sustainable development.

The 10 Best Pet Friendly Hotels In Jackson Hole 2024

Housekeeping – Because Fireside Resort is not like a regular hotel, daily housekeeping is not possible. However, you can change towels and sheets at the front desk, and if you want your cabin cleaned, they will do it for $35. Just hang a “Cleaning” sign outside the door before 11:00.

Jeep Rentals – If you want to go off-road in the Tetons, Fireside Resort offers daily Jeep rentals.

Campsite – You can’t see it from the small cottage, but Fireside Resort also has a small RV parking lot behind the property. This is actually the only local campground in the area that offers winter RV sites. We’ve seen “No Overnight Parking” signs all over the ski area, so this is a great option for those who prefer to sleep in their campsites or campsites and still want close access. In winter, sites cost $59 per night and include access to hot tubs and showers, laundry facilities, and 30 and 50 amp hookups. In summer, sites range from $89 to $135 per night.

The only thing to watch out for is that there were a lot of deer in the area when we were there, so be careful and always have a leash handy. The hotel requires you to put your dog down if you leave it while you are away. Dogs are charged $35 per day or $75 for the entire stay if more than 2 days.
