NOTE: Proof of vaccination is required for all, and there are often cleaning fees and more (some overnight, some residential). Most offer bags, but it’s wise to bring a towel. There is no size limit for dogs.

A place with a dog is amazing, but don’t take advantage of it: don’t bring your dog if it’s aggressive, doesn’t get along with other animals, doesn’t have a home or has a black dog; find a warehouse instead.

All I had to do was whisper the word Inn by the Sea and Bernie won. This palace, hotel, next to Crescent Beach, hunting dogs and their owners. Not only does it offer beds, bowls and swings, but it also offers dog food (Bernie recommends the steak).
We stayed at the resorts and one of the beach houses (which have a full kitchen).

Although dogs are not allowed in the restaurant, they are allowed in the hotel rooms and on the deck, and breakfast, lunch and dinner are served in – the house.
Dogs can walk on the beach in the off season; in nature, with a parachute on the beach service road or go to a nearby place for a beautiful walk. The inn is about 15 minutes from downtown Portland, which has a great dog park. Although the accommodation may not fit the budget, especially in the summer, the prices are very low and the summer shelter for people is a win-win.
Rodger Dodger is the official spokesperson for the Harraseeket Inn, conveniently located close to LL Bean, Freeport’s gazillion shops and all of the downtown activities.
Carriage House rooms and two-bedroom cottages are pet-friendly. Part of the cost of the night pet is donated to the Coastal Humane Society, which is another plus.

Bernie gives the Dog House a big thumbs up, where his dog rooms include a wet bar and a hearty fireplace. Dog beds, small food bowls, clean bags and bowls are provided.
Set back from the coast, Sebasco is a 550-acre resort, full-service hotel that combines old-world charm with modern amenities. With two restaurants, an open-air coastal beach, cruises, a spa, a lounge and a nine-hole golf course, the resort is extremely attractive.
Sebasco has three houses that love dogs. We stayed in the Dogwood, which has two bedrooms, a bathroom, a living room and a kitchen; perfect for Bernie. The terrain of the park offers opportunities for walking.
This is a special resort, so everyone in the family is interested.
The Colony Hotel Pet Policy
I love Castine, a New England seaside town full of history and interesting architecture. In the center of town is the beautiful Pentagoet Inn, a yellow, classic Queen Anne Victorian with a tower, a round porch and harbor views.
What most people don’t know, the hotel has a house from the 18th century, which offers rooms for animals. All rooms are decorated with antiques, and a full breakfast is included (the building is famous for its dining room and bar).
Even if you can’t bring your bag into the dining room, you can eat with them on the balcony. Castine’s quiet streets invite strolls, and signs posted throughout the city add to the appeal. Or head to Witherle Woods, a nature reserve, for a woodland walk.
Built on the former 14-acre home of American Agatha Christie, Mary Reinhart Roberts (nicknamed “The Master Made It” and inspired the character of Batman), Wonder View makes its name with an incredible view of Bar Harbor. and to Porcupine Island. It consists of four old motels on flat ground with lawns and large shade, a swimming pool and a restaurant with a fine dining room.

With a name like Paws Inn, you know it’s going to be dog-friendly. Carolyn Bailey and her children dress up their canine guests with dog beds or crates, lots of food and lots of love.
Dogs can play in the fenced yard and farm of 2,000 square meters. They are also allowed to stay in a hotel room unsupervised. Another plus: there is a sitting dog.
Humane guests enjoy a hearty continental breakfast and access to a juice and water refrigerator.

The living room is on the second floor, so it may not be the best option for dogs who have problems with stairs. The room has air conditioning and cable TV. A hillside bed and breakfast 2 miles south of downtown Bethel, convenient to Sunday River and Mt. Abrams. No credit cards.
I love the philosophy of innkeeper Donna Pearce. “Dogs are valued if they can reinforce the behavior of their humans.” Bernie gave us a good recommendation, so we checked it out. What makes this B&B special are the spacious rooms. No matter how many dogs or people there are in the apartment, there is always a place to find a special corner.
